THE BATTLE OF MILANO ENDED RED AND BLACK

SERIE A

In a heated Serie A derby on Saturday,

Rafael Leao propelled AC Milan to a 3-2 victory over ferocious rival Inter Milan in front of the club’s new owners.

Leao contributed to all three Milan goals, scoring two and assisting Olivier Giroud on the other.

In the 21st minute, Marcelo Brozovic gave Inter the lead,

and Edin Dzeko equalized for the Nerazzurri in the 67th.

Serie A’s top team is now Milan. One of the six teams that has not lost is the reigning champion.

On Wednesday, Milan announced the completion of its most recent ownership change,

in which the New York Yankees acquired a minority stake and RedBird Capital Partners acquired a controlling interest.

RedBird’s founder and managing partner, Gerry Cardinale, attended the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro.
