At San Siro, Milan and Juventus game ended up in a draw with both teams unable to score any goals.
After a brilliant through pass from Yildiz, Koopmeiners sprung the offside trap to give Juventus the first opening of the match. The Dutchman’s attempt, however, was hammered into the side netting due to the difficult angle.
Yildiz nearly gave Juventus the lead, after picking up the ball in Milan’s half, the gifted winger cut inside and attempted to score, but his effort missed the near post from the edge of the box. For the guests, that was close.
Leao appeared to be Milan’s strongest offensive threat as he picked up the ball more and more during the first half. The Portuguese player advanced quickly once more, but Juve cleared their lines after his ball to Musah was intercepted.
Milan had the game’s first opening. A free-kick in a risky location belonged to the hosts. Morata missed the mark with his header after Leao whipped in a lovely cross. The Spaniard had a fantastic chance to score against his old team.
Juventus was just centimeters away from taking the lead after getting off to a strong start in the second half. Yildiz gives Cambiaso a fantastic through pass, but Thiaw charged down the Italian’s angled drive with a key throw.
The hosts moved forward with purpose this time. Reijnders attempted to break forward from midfield, but Kalulu, who was facing his old team tonight, stopped him with a fantastic sliding tackle.
A potential Milanese attack was unsuccessful. Gatti was there to step in and prevent the attack from continuing after Leao attempted a complex slide-rule passed into reijnders. The Juventus center-back made a vital block there.
Thiaw deflects it out for a corner as Yildiz charges forward and tries his luck from the box’s edge. Throughout the first 60 minutes, both teams played strong defense and did a good job of limiting the opposing team’s opportunities.
The ball made its way to Fofana as Milan surged forward in force. The Frenchman attempted to aim from outside the box, but his effort was excessive and went beyond what was allowed.
