Verona 0-5 Inter: Nerrazzuri frenzy at verona

Marcus Thuram scored twice, Correa added a goal and two assists, Stefan de Vrij, and Yann Bisseck completed the onslaught as Inter defeated Verona by five goals.

The first significant opportunity for Verona came in the fifth minute when Yann Sommer mishandled a header from Flavius Daniliuc on a free kick.

Inter responded right away when Carlos Augusto sprinted onto the Alessandro Bastoni ball over the top and struck the side netting after Correa’s header first rebounded against the bar from close range.

After Francesco Acerbi was substituted due to injury, Stefan de Vrij assisted in setting up the first goal a few minutes later. Marcus Thuram immediately laid it off for Correa to continue the run and place a wonderful dinked finish over Lorenzo Montipò after Correa’s fake let the ball through.

Correa returned the favor with a through pass that sent Thuram clean to draw out the goalie and place into the empty net, continuing his outstanding play.

Moments after Domagoj Bradaric was caught out of position on the Bastoni assist, Thuram defeated Montipò one-on-one, and the Hellas offside trap failed miserably once more.

Inter took full advantage of Verona’s obvious collapse, leading 4-0 at the interval. De Vrij swept in first time from 14 yards out, and Asllani pulled back from the right after his corner was improperly cleared.

Before halftime, Yann Bisseck grabbed from Correa with his back to goal inside the area, turned Dawidowicz too easily, and managed to sweep the finish into the net as he fell, making things worse for Hellas.

After Reda Belahyane made a fantastic spin between two, Suat Serdar’s attempt was deflected inches wide.

Piotr Zielinski’s shot stung the goalkeeper’s palms, almost giving up the sixth goal immediately after Verona made four changes at halftime.

Tajon Buchanan made his season debut following a fracture sustained during training with Canada, and Inter switched to a four-man defense to maintain their enormous lead from the hour mark.
