Inter have ascended to the top of Serie A, sharing the lead with Roma after a decisive 2-0 victory over Lazio, thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Lazio had gone six matches without defeat and maintained four straight clean sheets, but that streak came to an abrupt end just three minutes into the match at San Siro against Inter. Alessandro Bastoni intercepted Gustav Isaksen to locate Lautaro Martinez, whose slightly scuffed shot from within the box arched into the far top corner. It marked his second goal of the week, yet it was his first in five Serie A matches.

Lautaro Martinez also headed over from a Federico Dimarco free kick, while Mattia Zaccagni maneuvered inside to shoot just over from the edge of the box.
Petar Sucic volleyed a cross from Nicolò Barella wide of the far post, while Manuel Akanji shot over from a cushioned lay-off by Denzel Dumfries.
Yann Sommer expertly smothered a snapshot from Matteo Guendouzi shortly after the restart, while Lautaro Martinez sent his shot soaring over the bar following a give and go with Barella.

Inter quickly extended their advantage, with Dimarco delivering a perfectly weighted pass from the left, allowing Bonny to tap in at the back post from six yards out.
On the 66th minute, Piotr Zielinski struck from the edge of the area with an assist from Carlos Augusto, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review due to a handling offense by Dimarco.
Pedro swept just wide on the half-volley for Lazio, while Mario Gila came remarkably close with a header from a free kick that struck the inside of the far post. However, goal-line technology confirmed that the ball had not fully crossed the line.
Ivan Provedel utilized his legs to deflect an angled drive from Carlos Augusto, while Sommer was also required to execute a significant save against Luca Pellegrini, who was set free by an impressive pass from Zaccagni.
