Bologna and Verona both suffered losses in the first round of games for the new Serie A season. It will be a very close and competitive game between these two clubs, as both will be anxious to avoid losing a second straight match.
Both of these teams are pretty evenly matched and 3 of their last 6Serie A head-to-head matches have resulted in draws. Both teams lost last weekend, so it stands to reason that they will both be anxious going into their upcoming game because a loss might force them to play catch-up to the rest of their opponents.
On the first weekend of the new season, Bologna had a challenging trip to Lazio but went into the break ahead thanks to a penalty from Arnautovic, last season’s leading scorer, in the 38th minute. Lazio had to react in the second half, and they did so by tying the score in the 68th minute on an unfortunate own goal by De Silvestri. Immobile scored the game-winning goal for the home team 11 minutes from time as they gained the upper hand.
Last time around, Verona played Napoli at home. Although the hosts put up a valiant effort, Napoli’s class ultimately won out. Verona took the lead in the 29th minute on a goal from Lasagna, but Napoli answered with two goals of their own to lead 2-1 at the break. Bologna had to react at the beginning of the second half, and they did so by tying the score on Henry’s goal in the 48th minute. However, Napoli took the lead again in the 55th minute and added 2 more goals to complete the 5-2 victory.
