Since joining the Rossoneri in 2023, Noah Okafor hasn’t fully convinced. In 52 games, he has only scored seven goals and provided five assists, albeit some of those goals were undoubtedly important at the time.
As the management want to build on our Italian Super Cup win, Sergio Conceicao, the Portuguese tactician currently in charge, will seek to shape the team into his own for the second half of the season.
However, it doesn’t seem like Okafor is in his plans. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Swiss international will be joining RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season, with the Bundesliga team paying his salary.
Additionally, he points out that the agreement contains an option-to-buy clause valued between €25 million and €28 million, contingent on a number of performance-related elements. On Friday, Okafor will travel to undergo his medical and finalize the move’s legalities.
It’s doubtful if the forward will fulfill his potential at Milan, despite his talent, so if Leipzig decides to take advantage of the purchase option, it will undoubtedly be wise for the Rossoneri.
It is hoped that the loan move goes well, even though there is still a chance that Okafor will return to Milan in the summer. It seems like it would be best for everyone if Leipzig were to eventually activate the buy option and sign the Swiss star permanently.
