The Italian club has announced that they have signed Alvaro Morata, who will wear jersey number 7 for the upcoming season.
Milan met Atletico Madrid’s €13 million signing clause and acquired Morata.
AC Milan is proud to announce the signing of Álvaro Borja Morata Martín from Club Atlético de Madrid. Captain of the Spanish national team, with which he recently won the European Championship, Morata has signed with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028, with an option to extend for an additional year.
Born in Madrid on 23 October 1992, Álvaro spent time in the Youth Sectors of Atlético, Getafe and Real Madrid, before graduating from the latter and making his senior debut with the Blancos in December 2010. Over his career, he has played for Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid making a total of 506 appearances and scoring 172 goals. He has won two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, one Supercopa de España, two Serie A titles, three Coppa Italias, two Italian Supercoppe and one FA Cup.
The current Spanish captain has played 80 games for his national team, scoring 36 goals, and has won both the recent European Championship and the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League.
He has chosen to wear the number 7.

The Spaniard is getting ready to go on vacation with his family after undergoing medical testing in Madrid earlier this week. At the start of August, he will presumably be reunited with his new teammates.
In addition to his wife Alice’s Venetian heritage, his four-year stint at Juventus (2014–2016 and 2020–2022) gives him a strong connection to Italy.
While playing for the Bianconeri in Serie A, the Spaniard won two Scudetti, three Coppa Italia, and a Super Cup, scoring 35 goals in 130 games.
Just led Spain to their fourth European Championship title, and he had a productive season with Atletico Madrid, scoring 21 goals in 48 games played in all competitions.
At EURO 2024, Morata, who is 31 years old, made seven appearances and scored once.
