Genoa 1-1 Pisa: Spoils shared between both teams

Last Updated on 04/01/2026 by

Neither Genoa nor Pisa will find complete satisfaction with a draw in this relegation battle, as Mehdi Leris responded to Lorenzo Colombo’s curling shot.

Mehdi Leris observed his early angled drive narrowly miss the far post from the edge of the box, while Vitinha’s curling shot challenged goalkeeper Adrian Semper.

Genoa took the lead when Lorenzo Colombo collected the ball outside the area and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot into the far bottom corner.

Pisa came close to equalising at the 33-minute mark when Nicola Leali deflected a header from Leris onto the crossbar following a cross from Samuele Angori.

The visitors leveled the score in a tumultuous sequence, as Leali mishandled the Angori free kick amidst a crowd, permitting Leris to capitalize on the loose ball. Genoa sought a foul to be called on their goalkeeper, who collided with teammate Johan Vasquez.

Semper executed a remarkable one-handed save on the line, successfully denying Morten Thorsby’s glancing header.
