According to reports, Juventus has chosen to pursue a move for Marseille striker Arkadiusz Milik rather than Barcelona forward Memphis Depay.
The Dutchman from Barcelona had been a target for the Italian powerhouses, but negotiations had been difficult. However, it appears that during these discussions, The Bianconeri and Marseille were able to come to terms on a loan with a buyout option for Milik, with the Italian team paying €2 million for the initial loan period. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus will have the option to make the 28-year-transfer old’s permanent for €8 million next summer if the player performs well.
Following a meeting between Juventus representatives and manager Massimiliano Allegri, the striker’s transfer is reportedly almost complete. The Polish international has 122 appearances for Napoli, 48 goals and five assists, giving him a wealth of Serie A experience.
Dusan Vlahovic, who joined Juventus in January of last year, has made an immediate impact, scoring 11 goals in 23 games for the club, including two in each of his first two games of this season. Milik is likely to serve as Vlahovic’s backup.
