Juventus 3-2 Frosinone: last grasp win for Bianconeri

Juventus defeated Frosinone 3-2 thanks to a goal scored by Daniele Rugani in the 93rd minute.

After being winless for four games in Serie A, Juve snapped their losing streak and moved up to second place, six points behind Inter Milan, who are top of the league, but have played two more games. Frosinone is still in 16th place with 20 points; they lead Hellas Verona by three points in 18th place, just above the relegation spots.

After just three minutes, Bianconeri got off to a fantastic start when Serbian sensation Dusan Vlahovic headed home a cross from Weston McKennie to put Juventus up. They were the creative core of Juventus, a lethal combination of physical prowess and guile.

It was the first time Frosinone had scored two goals away from home in the league since October, but they let their opponents in with two clinical goals scored by Walid Cheddira and Marco Brescianini during the interval.

Amidst all the chaos in the first half, Vlahovic calmed Juventus down with a beautiful finish that went in off Michele Cerofolini’s reach. The goal came 35 minutes into the match.

From then on, Juventus dominated the match. Despite dominating possession, they failed to create any clear-cut opportunities despite 22 shots on goal.

The game-winning goal was scored by bit-part defender Daniele Rugani in the final minute of stoppage time. After receiving a corner kick, Vlahovic controlled it beyond the far post and sent it beyond the Frosinone goalkeeper.

It was a relief for Max Allegri to put an end to his team’s shaky streak, and last-minute jubilation for Turin’s home fans. They haven’t given up on making it to top of Serie A yet. Next Sunday, they’ll face a more formidable opponent at Napoli.
