In Turin, Juventus secure a commanding win over PSV top start their UCL campaigne. Yildiz scored the goal on his debut followed by Mckennie and Gonzalez
PSV has a chance from outside the box when Veerman beats everyone in the box with his shot after a layoff, but Di Gregorio dives quickly to make the save. After being discovered in space on the wing, Bakayoko has a chance, but the shot is blocked, and PSV regain possession and keep the lead.
Ledezma distracts Gonzalez just enough to prevent him from hitting the goal, but Yildiz makes a great play on the edge of the box, finding Cambiaso on the wing, who crosses to Gonzalez inside the box.
Yildiz scores a goal that rockets into the net to give Juventus the lead. A fantastic goal struck with such force that Drommel was powerless to stop it, giving Juventus the lead.
McKennie received a cross from Koopmeiners inside the area, but Drommel in goal stopped his attempt. The hosts are striving for a second goal after the first strike gave them the confidence they needed. Moments later, Koopmeiners has an opportunity at goal himself from a cross, but it goes just wide of the goal.
With a blazing display from the hosts, Weston McKennie doubles Juventus’ lead. After some excellent attack play, McKennie receives the ball inside the box, where the American slots it home.
A free-kick is awarded to the hosts close to the dugouts; a cross is whipped into the box, and Drommel does just enough with a flying punch to keep the ball out of his side’s goal and give them a moment to clear their lines.
Gonzalez finds himself on the scoresheet, and they have their third goal, thus ending the visitors’ chances of winning. Koopmeiners recovers possession of the ball for Juventus, and then Vlahovic sets Gonzalez up for a goal and an assist, giving the winger a point and an assist in his Champions League debut.
Inside their own half, Juventus wins a free kick. It appears as though a PSV player has the ball, but the referee blows and the home team regains possession. Saibari has a chance for the visitors; his shot is on goal, but it goes right into Di Gregorio’s palms.
Saibari, who has attempted to change things since entering the game, had another opportunity to score, but this time it was directly at the goalkeeper. Vlahovic believes he has scored when Koopmeiners passes the ball into him down the other end of the field, but Drommet stops him.
Saibari hits the back of the net with the game’s final kick to give PSV a consolation goal. Juventus leads 3-1.
