Tonight, Inter will travel to Lazio in an effort to keep their perfect start to the new campaign going. The home team has four points and will be desperate to maintain their perfect start to the most recent Serie A season, but they are aware that it may be much easier said than done.
We anticipate more of the same on Friday night after four of the last five matches between Lazio and Inter have created over 2.5 goals and seen both teams score. In two of Lazio’s and four of Nerazzuri’s most recent six matches across all competitions, at least three goals have been scored by both teams.
The game turned out to be much closer than anyone anticipated, despite Lazio being the favorites to return from their trip to Torino with all three points. The clean sheets were maintained by both defenses for the full 90 minutes, and the Lazio players’ frustration was evident as Immobile, Milinkovic-Savic, and Lazzari were all booked deep into the extra time.
At home against Spezia, Inter was always expected to win all three points, and the hosts did not disappoint their supporters. After some solid work from his strike partner Lukaku, Martinez broke the scoreless tie in the 35th minute. Early in the second forty-five minutes, Calhanoglu gave Inter a 2-0 lead, and eight minutes from time, Correa gave the hosts the victory with a third goal.
Possible Lineup for Lazio– Provedel, Patric, Romagnoli, Marušić, Vecino, Lazzari, Zaccagni, Cataldi, Milinković-Savić, Immobile, Anderson
Possible Lineup for Inter– Handanovič, de Vrij, Škriniar, Dimarco, Dumfries, Bastoni, Brozović, Çalhanoğlu, Barella, Lukaku, Martínez
Who are the front-runners? Despite a tough challenge, Inter Milan is the undisputed favorite to win.
