Cremonese defeated Milan for the first time at San siro, making it a historic win for them. Baschirotto and Banazzoli scored for Cremonese while Pavlovic scored for Milan.
After a fast Cremonese throw-in, Pezzella crosses early into the penalty box, but the wing-back puts his shot straight behind for a goal.
For Milan, Loftus-Cheek’s incisive pass with the outside of his boot to Fofana, whose inventive flick on the edge of the area allows Gimenez to get through behind the defense, was an example of Milan’s excellent football. The Mexico international gets his shot off fast, and if it weren’t for the goal frame, it would have gone in at the near post after an odd deflection off Baschirotto’s foot.

Cremonese breaks the other way as Estupinan stops to protest but is not given a free-kick after Zerbin catches him in possession on the halfway line. Bonazzoli’s pass to the near post for Zerbin is easily read and swept away by Gabbia as the visitors attempt to use the overload on the right side.
Collocolo initially misses Saelemaekers’ flat cross into the penalty area, but Gimenez is eventually pushed off the ball and denied a chance to shoot.
Okereke beats Pavlovic in the air to clear the danger as Modric delivers his outswinging corner kick on the edge of the six-yard box. Estupinan is the first to respond, grabbing the loose ball 35 yards from goal and hammering a first-time attempt that, just in case, sends Audero flying across his line.
After receiving the ball in midfield, Modric raises his head and throws an inch-perfect pass onto Gimenez’s foot. Gimenez settles it with a touch and then slots a slick finish beyond Audero, but the linesman immediately flags it as offside, ending the match at 0-0.
Cremonese takes the lead! Collocolo’s glanced header sends the ball back towards the touchline after he is unable to turn Vandeputte’s corner towards goal. The first player to arrive is Zerbin, who instantly sends a cross back into the 18-yard box for Baschirotto, who stays up from the back and heads the ball past a defenseless Maignan, taking lead over Milan.
The first wave of Cremonese’s press is broken by a give-and-go between Saelemaekers and Gimenez, but the last pass out to Pulisic is poor and is easily intercepted by Bianchetti to end the half.
Audero punches away Pulisic’s inswinging corner kick through the throng of bodies, but his clearance does not send the ball past the 18-yard box. With the goalie not set, Gimenez gets on the end of it and turns his body to shoot a half-volley towards the goal, but it narrowly misses the far post.
Before laying it off to the overlapping Estupinan, Saelemaekers cuts inside from the left wing and attempts to step through Zerbin, leaving the wing-back on the ground in agony. The Ecuadorian international uses the gap created by the injured teammate to chip an inch-perfect cross to Gimenez, who is waiting at the far post. However, Milan equalizes when the imposing Pavlovic nods the ball over the line.
Collocolo maintains possession of the ball before the touchline and sends a pass down the field for Okereke’s run, but Maignan beats the striker in the race.
Gimenez plays it square to Saelemaekers, who bends his leg to lay the ball off to Modric after attracting three defenders to him on the edge of the penalty box. As San Siro roars, the Croatian international takes the field and attempts a vicious first-time shot that appears to be slipping in just under the crossbar, but the goalie reaches out and stops the veteran from scoring his maiden goal and letting Milan take lead.
Despite Collocolo’s close marking, Saelemaekers drags a low, disguised pass across the 18-yard box for a marked Fofana, who makes a risky first-time attempt towards goal. However, Audero sees it all the way through and parries it away before Baschirotto turns it behind for a corner, making his second crucial save in two minutes.

What a goal by Bonazzoli..!!!!! Saelemaekers maintains possession of the ball before his own corner flag, but Gimenez doesn’t settle his clearance and hands it to the rushing Baschirotto right away. The wing-back’s cross isn’t a return; rather, it’s a high, hanging ball to Bonazzoli, who smacks an acrobatic overhead kick past Maignan and in. The defender backheels it towards Pezzella and presses on into the penalty area.
Ahead of Terracciano, Pulisic intentionally cuts inside from the left and sends in a right-footed effort that slips and does not bend back towards goal.
Milan’s substitute Jimenez is fouled on the left flank, and he then stands up to protest with the referee. The full-back seems dissatisfied with the speed at which the judgment was made, and Jimenez receives a yellow card of his own.
With his back to goal with Baschirotto nearby, Gimenez takes Fofana’s pass and promptly passes it to the late-arriving Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder drills a shot that compels Audero to act, but it only finds the side-netting because he has barely had time to settle the ball before getting it out of his feet.
