Napoli regained their momentum with a brace from David Neres and Noa Lang’s inaugural goal, spoiling Raffaele Palladino’s debut as Atalanta’s coach.
David Neres had gone 11 months without scoring a Serie A goal, but he ended that drought by running onto a clever flick from Rasmus Hojlund, evading Honest Ahanor, and curling a precise finish into the far bottom corner giving lead to Napoli.

Atalanta made an effort to reply, with Charles De Ketelaere and Mario Pasalic missing the mark from encouraging positions.
Napoli extended their lead when a misjudged clearance from Marco Carnesecchi was intercepted by Scott McTominay, allowing Neres to strike with his left foot into the far corner.
As half-time approached, Noa Lang experienced a moment of joy, scoring his first goal for Napoli by positioning himself ahead of Raoul Bellanova to head in at the back post from a cross delivered by Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Palladino executed a double substitution at half-time, yet just 30 seconds later, Carnesecchi was compelled to make a challenging save at the near post from McTominay’s powerful shot.
De Ketelaere’s snooker shot grazed the far post following a combination with Lookman, and shortly after, Atalanta found the net with a stunning volley from Gianluca Scamacca, who connected from 12 yards on Bellanova’s cross.
La Dea awoke from a nightmarish first half as De Ketelaere’s curling shot grazed the crossbar, leaving Vanja Milinkovic-Savic frozen in place. Moments later, the goalkeeper managed to tip a Scamacca strike around the base of the post.
Atalanta took control in an instant, with Scamacca heading a Lazar Samardzic cross just wide, and later, Carnesecchi made a crucial foot save to deflect an Eljif Elmas corner.
