Torino marked their first victory in more than two months by overcoming Cremonese, courtesy of a goal from Nikola Vlasic, although there were penalty appeals during stoppage time.
Federico Ceccherini’s header from a corner was expertly dealt with, but Emil Audero showcased his skills with a remarkable one-handed save to deny the powerful angled drive from Che Adams.
Toro took the lead when Duvan Zapata expertly controlled a cross from the left with his back to the goal and made a turn. In an attempt to intercept, Federico Baschirotto inadvertently deflected the ball, allowing Nikola Vlasic to strike it home from 10 yards out.

Cremonese reacted swiftly, with Alberto Paleari compelled to make a challenging save against Federico Bonazzoli’s impressive chest and bicycle-kick. Shortly thereafter, Jamie Vardy lured the goalkeeper out, yet failed to maintain possession after evading the offside trap.
Toro persisted in generating the most promising opportunities following the break, with Adams testing Audero’s reflexes, while at the opposite end, Ceccherini’s shot was directed right at Paleari.
Romano Floriani Mussolini returned just in time to make a crucial block against the Marcus Pedersen counter-attack, yet Cremonese squandered a prime chance to level the score in the 80th minute.
Vardy evaded the offside trap on the left and delivered a pass, but Faris Moumbagna shot over the bar as he slid in at the back post.
Adams had the opportunity to secure the win for Torino, skillfully cutting inside Federico Baschirotto and curling a right-footed shot just inches wide of the far post.
Simeone tested Audero’s gloves from a challenging angle as well, but controversy arose late in stoppage time when Simeone managed to control the Alessio Zerbin free kick with his shoulder, causing the ball to bounce onto his arm. VAR conducted a discreet assessment but ultimately chose not to recommend an On-Field Review for a penalty involving Cremonese.
