Juventus defeated Torino on Saturday night in the crucial Derby della Mole match thanks to Dusan Vlahovic.

In what was, overall, a pretty bad game, the Serbian appeared in the 75th minute to tap in the winner.

In spite of their ritiro and the stern words from club president Andrea Agnelli, Juventus failed to make any progress during the opening 30 minutes. They failed to manage a single shot on goal (off-target or on target) in the first 30 minutes, demonstrating their continued lack of creativity in the final third.

Juventus didn’t generate an opportunity until the 33rd minute. Dusan Vlahovic would get the chance after Moise Kean set him up for it. He flicked the ball past Koffi Djidji before having his shot on goal expertly saved by Vanja Milinkovi-Savi in the Toro goal.

The only chance that Allegri’s team would generate in a very tedious first half that featured two average football teams was that one.

Manuel Locatelli’s side-footed effort from outside the box was tipped over the crossbar by the Torino goalkeeper at the start of the second half, forcing Milinkovi-Savi into his second good save of the contest.

Then, in the 65th minute, Kean would squander a golden opportunity to start the scoring. Filip Kostic found the Everton loanee eight yards from goal, completely unmarked, but he was only able to direct the ball wide of the post. A really poor miss, by all accounts.

After cutting Torino open once and smelling blood, Juventus pushed the game forward with real urgency for the next ten minutes. In the process of trying to score, Vlahovic forced Milinkovi-Savi into a superb save with a header, and in the 75th minute, the Serbian striker scored.

After Danilo flicked an Alex Sandro, Vlahovic was the quickest to react at the back post to tap the ball home and give his team a crucial 1-0 victory.

Juventus edged out Torino to move above Inter in the Serie A table thanks to the lone goal from Vlahovic. The striker met Danilo’s flick-on to score from close range after Milinkovic-Savic denied him with a header and earning the corner. After a cagey opening, he scored the game-winning goal in the second half. In the 34th minute, the Serbian player had a chance to score but instead fired the ball directly at the goalkeeper from inside the box.

Apart from the former Florentina player, Locatell had the best chance to end the score, but Milinkovic-Savic deflected his rebounding shot over. Only two of the 15 shots that the home team attempted to test Szczesny during the content were successful. Both were gentle, with Miranchuk and Vlasic’s attempts to curl hitting the Polish International square in the face. Radonjic was active for the first 45 minutes, but he was quiet for the next 20 and was replaced.
