Riccardo Orsolini had his penalty thwarted by Maduka Okoye, yet Tommaso Pobega unexpectedly scored twice, while Federico Bernardeschi secured Bologna’s win against Udinese.
In the opening minutes, Benjamin Dominguez nearly capitalized on a misplayed back-pass, while Keinan Davis executed an impressive volley that narrowly missed the target from Hassane Kamara’s cross.
Federico Ravaglia was swift to come off his line and block Jurgen Ekkelenkamp at the feet after a clever cross from Arthur Atta. However, Bologna was awarded a penalty after a VAR review, as Kingsley Ehizibue extended his elbow to deflect Tommaso Pobega’s shot within the box.
Riccardo Orsolini took his shot, but it was positioned well for the goalkeeper, allowing Maduka Okoye to successfully make the save.
It was not Orsolini’s day, as he tested Okoye at the near post with a cross-shot, then found the net after capitalizing on a Kamara error, only to be flagged offside.
Ekkelenkamp attempted to curl a free kick directly into the far top corner, coming very close just before half-time.
Atta made a powerful run to have his cross-shot blocked, but it was Bologna who opened the scoring when Orsolini collected a cross-field pass on the right, cut inside, and laid it off for Pobega, who took a touch before sweeping the ball into the far bottom corner from 15 yards with little interference.
Okoye may have played the hero during the penalty, but he turned into the villain for Bologna’s second goal, struggling to handle the high press and conceding possession while attempting to play out from the back, which allowed Pobega to capitalize.

Bologna ought to have been 3-0 ahead by the 70th minute when Nadir Zortea nutmegged Atta and delivered a pass from the right. However, Giovanni Fabbian inexplicably scuffed the shot wide from just seven yards out, despite being unchallenged.
Dominguez failed to capitalize on the assist from Federico Bernardeschi, while Atta challenged Ravaglia. However, Bologna sealed the match with a 3-0 scoreline with the final kick of the game. Once more, Udinese found themselves in a predicament while attempting to play out from the back, and Thijs Dallinga seized the opportunity, his back-heel flick deflecting perfectly into the path of Bernardeschi, who capitalized to score.
