As Bologna routed Spezia, Riccardo Orsolini scored one goal and assisted on another.
In the first few minutes, Lewis Ferguson stabbed Bartlomiej Dragowski’s gloves from a distance, and Spezia lost Viktor Kovalenko to a muscular injury. Daniel Maldini, Kovalenko’s replacement, took a shot on goal right away.
Joshua Zirkzee was blasting in at the near top corner from close range when Dragowski sprinted off his line to make a crucial save. He then made another save on a bullet header from Ferguson from the ensuing corner.
When Andrea Cambiaso’s cross was intercepted by Riccardo Orsolini and Stefan Posch shot from six yards into the roof of the net, Dragowski was powerless to stop it.
With one hand on Arkadiusz Reca’s daisy-cutter from outside the box and the other on Emmanuel Gyasi’s follow-up from point-blank range, Lukasz Skorupski had to make two saves.
Joao Moutinho was taken out on a stretcher after suffering an ankle injury, and Zirkzee’s looping header went wide while Dragowski extended a leg to block Orsolini’s angled shot.
On the 70th minute, Zirkzee crossed for Orsolini to tap in at the back post, giving Bologna another chance to score. However, the Semi-Automatic Offside Technology quickly determined that Roberto Soriano was offside during the buildup.
Soon after, Orsolini did double their advantage by latching onto a deft Nico Dominguez pass and firing into the top corner as Dragowski came charging.
