Guillermo Ochoa, a legend in Mexico, is expected to have a medical at Salernitana before moving to Serie A. The 37-year-old goalkeeper’s deal with Club America is set to expire in just 11 days.
If the medical is successful, Ochoa will join a Salernitana side who are seeking a return to the top-flight after being relegated from Serie A at the end of last season

According to Sky Sports Italia, Ochoa, who was participating in his 5th World Cup in Qatar, will have his medical on Thursday before moving to the Stadio Arechi.
Salernitana, who are currently 12th in Serie A, are hoping the seasoned goalkeeper, who has 135 caps for Mexico and has emerged as a World Cup cult hero, will sign a contract till the end of the season.
Ochoa has played in Ligue 1 and La Liga, making 121 and 49 appearances in each league’s top division, respectively, but this will be his first time doing so in Serie A.
Ochoa, who has frequently shone for Mexico at World Cups, will attempt to move past the agony of Qatar and concentrate on his club football. He joins a Salernitana team that will resume play on January 4 at home against Serie A champions AC Milan in a challenging test. Ochoa is expected to provide stability in the goal, which is something Salernitana has lacked so far this season
