Theo Hernandez will not play in match against Lazio on Tuesday night, dealing AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli yet another injury setback.
The Rossoneri head to the Stadio Olimpico hoping to rebound from last week’s Italian Super Cup loss to Inter, which extended a recent slump in performance.
Theo Hernandez hasn’t travelled with the rest of the team, according to Antonio Vitiello, because he injured a muscle during practice. He won’t play in midweek as a result of Milan’s decision to not take any chances with him and possibly make the situation worse.
Theo Hernandez’s absence from what should be a challenging match against Maurizio Sarri’s team is a blow in and of itself. It remains to be seen if the same problem could keep him out of our match against Sassuolo on Sunday.
Hernandez, 25, hasn’t been at his best since the World Cup season resumed, so this setback will be disappointing and frustrating for him. He’ll be eager to exert more influence in order to help the team get back on track, and he hasn’t been at his best since then.
The fact that he will have to take this week off, receive treatment, and watch as his teammates try to resume their winning ways is just a continuation of Milan’s ongoing issue with keeping everyone healthy and fit.
