Milan 0-1 Udinese: Disappointing defeat for Rossoneri

After implementing a new strategy, Milan’s play became muddled, and the team ultimately succumbed to an embarrassing loss at home at the hands of Udinese because of Roberto Pereyra’s penalty.

The Friulani were in the relegation zone and had not won a game all season. Meanwhile, new head coach Gabriele Cioffi watched his team was eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Cagliari in extra time throughout the week.

After 10 minutes of play, Udinese were presented with a wonderful opportunity when Zemura drew back from the by-line and Alessandro Florenzi cleared the ball into a crowd of opponents; however, Roberto Pereyra’s shot went high and wide of the goal.

In the meanwhile, for Milan Rade Krunic headed a corner kick in the direction opposite of the near post, and Zemura sent another ball across the face of the goal without anyone getting a touch on it.

Davide Calabria and Yunus Musah both charged forward to sting Marco Silvestri’s gloves from a distance. Davide Calabria also cut in from the right, while Yunus Musah came in from the left.

Alessandro Florenzi was able to take possession of the pass that Leao made to him and whirl around in one fluid motion to put himself clear on goal; however, the bounce was not what he anticipated, and he was unable to poke in the finish.

Both Rade Krunic and Luka Jovic were taken out of the game at halftime due to minor muscular issues, and the 4-4-2 formation of Milan was abandoned as a result.

During a corner kick, Kabasele expected his colleague Pereyra to shoot wide at the back post, despite the fact that the Argentine was in a much better position to score than Kabasele was.

After a few moments, for Milan Tijjani Reijnders made his way into the middle of the field, but he was unable to complete the scoring opportunity because Silvestri was charging out to meet him.

Festy Ebosele rushed into the box and wiggled between a swarm of defenders. Yacine Adli caught his toes, and the referee pointed to the place on the ground. Pereyra maintained his composure to give Udinese the lead and send Mike Maignan in the wrong direction with his pass.

Isaac Success was given the opportunity to take a free header off of a corner, but Maignan was able to deflect it away with a save from six yards out. It was close to being 2-0 at that point.

Milan barely troubled Silvestri in stoppage time with a looping header from Giroud on Leao’s cross, which prompted a fantastic reaction save from the goalkeeper. Leao went away down the left, but Neuhen Perez charged down the shot from a close angle.

Florenzi also forced Silvestri to make another save with a fierce half-volley from the defensive third that was going to go under the bar, while Leao’s shot went wide of the goal.
