According to Calciomercato, if Lionel Messi leaves the team, Paris Saint-Germain may try to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
Because Messi’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign and he is free to leave on a free agent, his future is uncertain.
Leao has not yet signed a new contract with Milan, which could lead PSG to exercise the €150 million release clause in his agreement.
Milan has been attempting to extend Leao’s contract since it is set to expire in 2024 for a number of months. Despite having recently made no progress, Calciomercato.com reported that the Rossoneri remain optimistic that they will be granted the renewal.
While this is happening, Paris Saint-Germain is planning for the future and needs quality replacements for players like Leo Messi and Kylian Mbappe who may leave. Luis Campos, the sporting director, is primarily focused on Leao because he might be one of them.
