Roma 3-1 Udinese : Dybala shines in amazing Roma win

Paulo Dybala capped off an outstanding team effort for Roma, which led to the side’s victory over Udinese and a move up to fifth place in the standings.

Gianluca Mancini’s header went wide from a Pellegrini corner, but that was just a warm-up for the game’s first goal, which came when Paulo Dybala lofted a free kick over the top for Gianluca Mancini to beat the offside trap, anticipate Jaka Bijol at the back post, and steer the header across Marco Silvestri’s goal. Mancini’s goal gave Roma a 1-0 lead.

A few of shots from afar were taken by Pellegrini, and another header by Mancini off of a corner kick by Leandro Paredes was just off target for Roma.

Romelu Lukaku also headed just inches wide from a Pellegrini corner, but Florian Thauvin’s shot was the first serious effort that Udinese had after 51 minutes of play and it went wide of the target.

Soon after that, Rui Patricio dove to his knees to save a shot by Walace, and shortly after that, Udinese scored an equalizer after applying pressure for a while. Thauvin scored a goal with a cushioned header after Martin Payero crossed the ball to the far post and then stood it up for Evan Ndicka and Leonardo Spinazzola to head on. It was a fitting celebration for the seasoned player as he reached his 300th game in one of the top five leagues.

The Friulani kept up their pressure, forcing Diego Llorente to make a last-ditch tackle in a one-on-one situation with Thauvin. As Silvestri rejected Sardar Azmoun’s feeble attempt at a dink, the offside flag spared Roma player’s embarrassed face.

Although Bryan Cristante’s header on a Leandro Paredes free kick sailed harmlessly over the crossbar, Roma were able to regain the lead thanks to an incredible team effort.

Dybala was sent through the middle after a series of one-touch passes including Edoardo Bove, Azmoun, and then Lukaku. Once there, he faced Silvestri in a one-on-one situation and defeated him and scored a wonderful goal for Roma.

Another well-executed play by the Giallorossi allowed them to score a third goal late in the match. Lukaku was able to fend off Jaka Bijol and send the ball on to Bove thanks to Mancini’s long pass. Bove then sent it on to El Shaarawy for the first time, and El Shaarawy finished it with the inside of his right foot to put the ball into the far bottom corner.
