When Sampdoria plays Juventus in Serie A on Monday night, their fans will be looking for a positive result after their team lost at home last weekend.
Despite getting a bunch of players out injured, the visitors had a strong start this season at home against Sassuolo and are now looking for back-to-back wins.

Sampdoria would have wanted to leave their match against Atalanta last weekend with at least a point, knowing they would soon face Juventus. Toloi’s goal in the 26th minute gave Atalanta a 1-0 lead at halftime, and Lookman’s goal in stoppage time sealed a 2-0 victory for the guests, handing Sampdoria their second season-opening defeat.
Some had anticipated a lacklustre performance from an injured Juve team, but the hosts were in excellent form against Sassuolo and ultimately won easily. After 26 minutes, Di Maria’s first goal gave Juve a 1-0 lead, and Vlahovic added a penalty kick just before halftime to make it 2-0. Early in the second half, the young Serbian striker struck again, scoring his second and Juve’s third goals of the contest to seal a convincing 3-0 victory.
