During their match against Verona, AC Milan secured victory thanks to Samuel Chukwueze’s first goal, which also helped them secure second position in Serie A, ahead of Juventus.
Noah Okafor, who was being used as a center forward, came close to scoring a stunning goal with his volley from the edge of the area on a flicked-on corner. However, Lorenzo Montipò made a spectacular save onto the crossbar, which prevented Okafor from scoring. Fikayo Tomori had a touch on the free kick that Theo Hernandez had taken, but he turned it wide.
Moments later, Milan once again shook the frame of the goal, this time with a rocket shot by Christian Pulisic that hit the bar from a difficult angle and was able to beat the goalkeeper.
Following a swift counterattack by Theo Hernandez, Okafor shot over the crossbar, and Tijjani Noslin flashed an angled drive across the face of the goal a few moments later.
A spectacular individual effort by Theo Hernandez, who ran down the left side of the field, rode two tackles, and then scored from the most limited of angles, was the catalyst that allowed Milan to break through. He was subsequently given a severe booking for a celebration that was considered to be provocative, and he would be suspended for the subsequent match.
At halftime, Kalulu was taken out of the game with a hit to his left knee. However, Milan increased their lead when Okafor caught Pawel Dawidowicz sleeping and surged forward to challenge Montipò. Pulisic was there to turn in the rebound after Okafor’s play. In addition, Milan scored their 5,000th goal in the Serie A competition.
The goal should have been scored by Noslin, but he was unable to keep his header down on a cross from Fabien Centonze. Meanwhile, Karol Swiderski’s shot was directed directly at Maignan.
A spectacular strike by Noslin allowed Verona to get on the scoresheet. He allowed the ball to bounce outside the box and then hammered it on the half-volley into the roof of the net despite the fact that it was outside the box.
When Montipò ran out as he got onto the Olivier Giroud pass, he turned wide of an open goal, but Rafael Leao was unable to restore the two-goal margin. Ondrej Duda and Suslov also failed to find the target with their shots.
Samuel Chukwueze, a substitute, scored a magnificent volley goal through the crowd after a corner kick was only cleared to just inside the area. This allowed Milan to finally put the score 3-1 to their advantage.
Verona continued to make an effort, but another Noslin screamer went wide of the target. Meanwhile, Maignan did pretty much all in his power to get his foot to a Swiderski shot during the stoppages.
