Pellegrino did not play for the first time with the first squad until March 2023. Since then, he has appeared in 17 games, scoring one goal and assisting his club in keeping eight clean sheets. It is believed that he will join the Rossoneri as the fifth choice central defender for the season, after Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw, Simon Kjaer, and Pierre Kalulu respectively. He will take the place of Matteo Gabbia, who is currently on loan at Villarreal.

The 21-year-old defender has only been used in the center of the defense, but there is some evidence to suggest that he could have the versatility of Kalulu in the future. Pellegrino is going to play in the shirt with the number 31 on it.

According to the President of Club Atletico Platense, as reported by MilanLive.it, the parameters of the deal include 3.5 million euros, the possibility of an additional 2 million in bonuses, and a future resale clause that is set at 10%.
