Charles De Ketelaere, Milan’s most expensive signing of this era, has finally completed his transfer from Club Brugge.
He will wear the No. 90 jersey and has signed a contract until June 2027, with a salary of €2.2 million per season.
The negotiations dragged on all summer and appeared to be on the verge of collapse at times, but a deal was eventually struck for €32 million plus €3 million in bonuses and a 12.5% reduction in the future transfer fee.
The 21-year-old Belgian international arrived from Brussels last night and underwent medical tests today before signing the five-year contract at the Casa Milan headquarters.
De Ketelaere is Milan’s most expensive signing with directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, costing €35 million.
De Ketelaere primarily plays as a trequartista, or attacking midfielder, but he can also play as a False 9 or in wider roles.
In November 2020, he made his senior debut for Belgium, earning eight caps and scoring one goal.
