According to reports, Roma and midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum of Paris Saint-Germain have agreed to a season-long loan arrangement. After struggling to make an impression since joining the French giants a year ago, the former Liverpool star has been linked with a wide variety of teams this summer.

The clubs have reportedly reached an agreement, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, but paperwork must still be completed before the transfer can be finalised.

Wijnaldum has had a difficult time since being attracted to Paris on a free transfer last year after refusing to sign a contract extension at Liverpool. However, it appears that he will be leaving the French squad after only one season.

Last season, the box-to-box midfielder made 38 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, most of which came as a substitute. After joining Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2016, the Netherlands international spent five years at Anfield for a fee of £25 million. He won the Premier League, Club World Cup, and Champions League during that time. He appeared in 179 of the Reds’ 190 Premier League games between the 2016-17 and 2020-21 seasons, showcasing his remarkable success there. During his time at Anfield, he appeared in 237 games in all competitions and scored 22 goals.
