Saturday’s match in Serie A between Inter and Bologna ended in a tie score of 2-2. Nerrazzuri is currently in first place in the league.
Francesco Acerbi and Lautaro Martinez gave Inter a 2-0 lead after just 13 minutes of play, and the team didn’t allow a single goal in any of its previous two matches, so it appeared that Inter was going to cruise to victory. However, it ended up giving up two goals in just as many minutes.
However, Riccardo Orsolini scored a goal from the penalty spot for Bologna six minutes later, and Joshua Zirkzee tied the score early in the second half. Both goals were scored by Bologna.
AC Milan, which is now one point behind Inter and has an upcoming match against promoted Genoa, has a chance to pass Inter and seize the lead in the standings. When Juventus plays Torino later in the day in a derby match, it will have the opportunity to close the gap.
In spite of the fact that they haven’t been defeated since the first day of the season, Bologna is still seven points behind Inter.
Following Inter’s 1-0 victory over Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, head coach Simone Inzaghi decided against making any lineup changes to his team.
Inter took the lead in the 11th minute when Acerbi scored on a header at the near post off of a corner kick taken by Hakan alhanolu. It had been more than a month since Bologna had allowed an opponent to score on them.
And then, only two minutes later, the Nerazzurri added a sensational goal to their advantage, doubling their lead. Martinez took the ball that had been passed to him by Marcus Thuram and then fired an incredible cannonball into the back of the net.
Martinez scored his 10th goal in Serie A this season with that goal.
However, the Argentine World Cup winner gave Bologna a chance to get back into the game in the 19th minute when he brought Lewis Ferguson to the ground inside the penalty area. This allowed Bologna to score a goal. Orsolini converted the ensuing penalty kick by placing it in the bottom left corner.
After falling behind by two goals so quickly, this was a crucial moment for Bologna’s mental health. Seven minutes into the second half, Bologna eventually scored the goal that brought the score even.
Zirkzee had control of the ball on the outside of the penalty area, and he turned and waited to see what action the Inter defense would take before blasting the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Alexis Sánchez believed that he had put Inter back in the lead, but the official judged that he was offside.
