Leandro Paredes unlikely to remain at Juventus beyond the end of the season

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are not likely to exercise the buy option in the loan agreement for Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain.

Since the start of the season, Paredes is currently on loan at the Serie A team and has played 22 times for the Turin-based club. But in that time, he has only recorded one assist. The PSG loanee hasn’t played in a Juventus game for longer than 45 minutes since September.

Therefore, according to Romano, Juventus is not considering buying the player. At the end of the season, the Italian team had the option to pay €22 million to acquire the unpopular PSG midfielder. It should be noted, though, that no final judgement has been made regarding Paredes’ future, which is still up in the air.

At the end of the current season, Paredes might rejoin PSG. Despite starting the season with the French club, he had little playing time, particularly after Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz, and Renato Sanches joined the midfield. Paredes would probably find it difficult to reenter the PSG team now that youngster Warren Zare-Emery has made it to the first team.
