Messias’ contract, under which he played for the Rossoneri and scored six goals in the previous campaign, was set to expire in 2024; therefore, the extension is only a formality to enable Genoa to sign him on this basis. Messias scored six goals for the Rossoneri in the previous campaign. It is anticipated that Milan receives €1.5 million for the loan, and it is expected that Milan will receive €1.5 million if the obligation is triggered.

Luka Romero, Christian Pulisic, and Samuel Chukwueze all signed with Milan over the summer, giving coach Stefano Pioli more options to choose from for the right wing position. This summer’s roster overhaul included all three players.
