As a result of the failure of all other possibilities, Luka Jovic will be the striker that moves to Milan.
Fans of Milan were told 24 hours ago that they would be receiving Mehdi Taremi from Porto, 6 hours ago that they would be getting Patson Daka from Leicester, and 2 hours ago that they would be getting Rafa Mir from Sevilla.
But in the end, it was Luka Jovic from Fiorentina, who made the move. All summer long, Fiorentina has been eager to get rid of the striker.
As reported by Sky Italia and others, Rossoneri made an offer to recruit Mir on loan with option to buy. However, because Sevilla was unable to locate a replacement in time, they opted to remove the striker from the market. Milan’s bid was rejected.
Because of this, the Rossoneri needed to move quickly and made the decision to sign Jovic, who had been offered to the Diavolo multiple times over the course of this summer. However, the Diavolo did not consider him to be a viable option for joining the team. Milan, however, made the decision to sign Jovic after realizing that time was running out and that none of their other options were viable.
The Serbian attacker will spend the upcoming season on loan from the club at no cost. Milan will pay his annual salary of €2.5 million. Because his current deal is set to expire in 2024, Milan will essentially have the opportunity in May to decide whether or not to acquire him on a permanent basis. An extremely cost-effective solution for Milan, who were quite keen on having a backup for Giroud.
Jovic is currently present at Casa Milan in order to finalize the contract, and the official statement is expected to arrive any moment now.
