Federico Dimarco and Edin Dzeko gave Inter an early lead in the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh, and Lautaro Martinez sealed the 3-0 victory as Milan looked out of sorts.

The breakthrough for Inter came after less than ten minutes, when Edin Dzeko sent Barella down the right before rolling across for Federico Dimarco to meet it relatively unguarded at the back post.

Rafael Leao accelerated after receiving a through ball from Brahim Diaz, but Andre Onana expertly palmed his effort over the crossbar. However, Milan were caught off guard when Dzeko was given a free kick and sent quickly down the left. Sandro Tonali was tripped up by his cutback at the byline, and the Bosnian steered a beautiful angled shot past Ciprian Tatarusanu and into the far bottom corner.

Fikayo Tomori made a last-ditch tackle on Matteo Darmian as a loose ball bounced around, and Tatarusanu kept the score low with a save from a chaotic corner before getting stung by Dimarco’s rocket.

Milan had more possession of the ball as the half came to a close, but they were unable to generate any noteworthy attempts on goal. After the break, Rafael Leao missed the target with a promising team move.

However, Ismael Bennacer’s shot was straight at Onana, and Alessandro Bastoni made a crucial interception as Olivier Giroud prepared to nod in Leao’s cross. Kjaer stopped Lautaro Martinez from turning to get the shot away.

Leao fired straight at the goalkeeper once more, while Theo Hernandez’s rocket of a free kick was touched on by Dzeko. Milan failed to convert their pressure into quality chances.

Lautaro Martinez converted on a Skriniar ball over the top, curled it in off the inside of the far post with the inside of his boot for a 3-0 score for Inter. Milan’s best opportunity came in stoppage time when Ante Rebic’s cross-shot smacked the crossbar.
