Milan vs Udinese Match recap

First match of the Serie A 2022/23 campaign as Milan battled their way out with Udinese.

As the game started, Udinese took quick lead into the second minute. The beautiful corner sent by Deulofeu connected very well with a lovely headed goal from Rodrigo Becao which slid past goal line. Mike Maignan couldn’t do anything to stop it. As game progressed Milan made a beautiful counter with Brahim Diaz shooting at the end which as deflected by Silvestri only to get in the foot of Davide Calabria. While missing on the shot poorly Calabria get fouled by Brandon Soppy. Milan got penalty in the 10th Minute which was converted beautifully by one of the best left-back in the world, Theo Hernandez.

Just after 5 minutes, Ante Rebic scored a goal by a wonderful volley on the cross from Davide Calabria. Milan got ahead of Udinese 2-1. Udinese created a wonderful chance to equalise as Deulofeu got past Tomori and headed towards goal. But his efforts went to waste when young Pierre Kalulu showed a brilliant piece of defending to block his attempt. The game of grit began as there was many physical battles which also resulted in getting yellow cards to Rade Krunic and Becao due to their heated confrontation. As the second half come to close, Udinese countered with a beautiful diving header from Mesina which connected beautifully on the cross, making the 2-2 at the half-time.

Milan got an early lead in the 46th minute from a quick attack initiated by Rade Krunic crossing on the side to Theo, who again crossed into the box which poorly cleared by Udinese defender Mesina and tapped in easily by Brahim Diaz. In second half Milan had a comfortable possession and they increased their lead by a lovely Goal from the man of moment Ante Rebic.

New faces made their debut like De Ketelaere, Pobega and Origi. De ketelaere showed some wonderful moments of brilliance in his game showing us why Milan invested so heavily in him. Milan had pretty comfortable time for the rest of the match concluding the match 4-2.

Man of the Match – Ante Rebic

Rebic was just the beast today. Not only because he scored a brace but due to his movement off the ball, his aggression throughout his play, his pressing on Udinese Players, I simply have no choice but to choose him as Man of the match.
