Napoli 5-1 Juventus: Partenopei destroyed Juventus in a frenzy match

Napoli put on an incredible performance to destroy Juventus and extend their lead in the race for the Serie A championship to ten points.

Juventus had gone eight games without giving up before Napoli cruelly put an end to that streak at stadio Maradona.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Amir Rrahmani, and Elif Elmas also had goals in addition to two goals from Victor Osimhen. Juventus responded through Angel di Maria, moving them down to third as a result.

Napoli scored first through Osimhen, who later assisted Kvaratskhelia in doubling their advantage. However, Di Maria responded just before halftime. Ten minutes after halftime, Rrahmani gave the home team a two-goal lead, and Luciano Spalletti’s team never looked back.

Osimhen, a striker from Nigeria, headed in his 12th Serie A goal of the year after being set up by Kvaratskhelia’s exquisite cross. Elmas’ deflected shot finished the scoring, and Juventus suffered its first five-goal defeat in a competition game since May 1993.

Osimhen won’t be happy with his 2 points. He was a nuisance the entire time, coming in from behind and getting plenty of chances to score. The Nigerian scored his opening goal without much difficulty, responding first to a rebound and nodding it in. His second was even simpler because two centre backs were content to watch him rise for a header.

He missed two opportunities to score while in on goal early on in the second half, therefore he should have added two more goals. Nevertheless, those misses will indeed be overlooked due to his side’s dominance.

Massimiliano Allegri’s team is currently 3rd, tied on points with second-placed AC Milan, and has only allowed seven goals in the top flight this season.

Nevertheless, it was a frenzied Napoli performance that emphasises the local team’s eligibility for their 1st Serie A league title since Maradona was a part of their squad 33 years ago.

An outclassed Napoli team completely outperformed Juventus, which resulted in a disappointing team performance. Their battles were represented by Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian center-back was caught off guard when Napoli scored their first goal, made a poor decision with a long pass that led to their second goal, and failed to stop Kvaratskhelia as he provided the assist for their third goal.
