Stefano Pioli is planning a big change in the Milan side when they face Sassuolo on Sunday evening,

Pioli intending to start with Charles de Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers in the squad, while Tommaso Pobega is the favorite to replace Ismael Bennacer.

As usual, the Rossoneri have been wracked by injuries and bans as Bennacer is suspended for accumulating yellowcards. The treatment room is still full with Fikayo Tomori, Mike Magnan, Fode Ballo-Touré, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi.

The positive thing is the return of Theo Hernandez and David Calabria, but options in defense are otherwise limited to Simon Kjaer and Pierre Kalulu.

Pobega and Rade Krunic are battling it out for the midfield spot, along with Sandro Tonali.

There is a widely reported nod to De Ketelaere and Saelemaekers sending Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias to the bench.

As for the rest, there’s no push to leave Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud out of the starting XI. Therefore Pioli is thinking to use one of his strongest XI for this upcoming match.

Milan (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Pobega; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Leao; Olivier Giroud.
