Roma defeated Empoli in Serie A matchday 21 with 2 stunning assists from Paolo Dybala and 2 early goals from Ibanez and Tammy Abraham
Three minutes in Roger Ibanez scored Roma’s opening goal of the evening after Dybala’s corner kick left him all alone in front of the goal.
Tammy Abraham scored the game’s second goal right after the sixth minute by heading in a corner kick with a double assist from Dybala.
A great cutback by Paulo Dybala resulted in a shot that missed the goalkeeper by a whisker. With more of the ball, Roma pushed forward in search of the third goal. Empoli is at a loss for how to escape Patricio’s net.
In the 22nd minute, the referee looked over the VAR review for a potential penalty for Abraham, but all it showed was that there had been a corner kick, which had come to naught.
When the Empoli defender’s header smacked the crossbar, Roma came close to scoring an own goal. Abraham missed a fantastic counterattack a short while later.
Roma should have scored their third goal when Abraham missed a fantastic opportunity to score. His header just missed the goalkeeper in the 29th minute.
Roma’s attack has slowed down with time left; Empoli responds with a few free kicks, but they are unsuccessful—Ebuehi came the closest but failed to face the goal.
At the start of second half Vicario produced stunning moments of magic. Vicario was present on 3 occasions when Dyabala, Mancini, and Abraham fired back to back, but the goalkeeper always kept his team in the game. He especially saved a point blank header from Abraham.
Empoli’s goalkeeper responded quickly and decisively with triple saves. however Empoli couldn’t find a way to jolt Patricio.
Empoli started to dominate possession and their midfield looked more solid than Roma. But they were unable to score despite dominating the midfield completely.
Due to Empoli’s control over the middle of the field, Roma was unable to find other ways to increase the score. Parisi’s most dangerous attempt came in the 61st minute, when he attempted a long-range shot but was unsuccessful.
Empoli was unable to score as a result of Nicolo Cambiaghi’s missed opportunity. Due to a back issue, Dybala left the field and substituted with Edoardo Bove.
As the game nears its conclusion in the 80th minute, the pace has significantly slowed down and neither Roma nor Empoli have been able to hurt one another. Empoli has the ball near the goal toward the end but fails to score while Roma stays back defending.
