FT’ IT IS ALL OVER! INTER ARE THE WINNERS AT STADIO OLIMPICO!!!

90′ + 4′ In the final minute and a half, Pellegrini takes a long-range free kick that floats past the right post and crashes into the advertising hoardings.

87′ OFF THE BAR! Martinez makes a fantastic attempt to score by bending the ball around a retreating Matic from the edge of the penalty box. However, his shot hits the crossbar, and the ball is deflected away from the area of potential danger.

86′ Pellegrini’s most recent attempt at a set piece results in Martinez, who has returned to his defensive role, deflecting the free kick that Pellegrini takes from the right flank. After that, Roma begin to build once more, but Zalewski’s careless touch on the right hand side of the box halts their forward progress.

81′ Even though the unpredictable Dybala is now on the field, Roma appear to have exhausted all of their options. Inter are putting up a number of players to stop the Argentinean’s shot, which goes well over the bar in spite of his best efforts.

74′ GOOOAAAL INTER!! LUKAKU SCORES FOR INTER!!

Lukaku, who has been in fine form as of late, scores what could be the game-winning goal at the Stadio Olimpico. Following an error by Ibanez, which allows the Inter substitute to obtain possession of the ball, the resurgent striker gets the ball from his old strike partner Martinez, and then he places it into the bottom-left corner of the goal! That makes it 2-0 in favor of the Nerazzurri; can we call it now?

64′ On the counterattack, Brozovic sends Dimarco down the left side, and the wing-back’s stood-up cross is deflected over by Cristante, who is content to give up just a corner kick.

62′ As Mancini and Barella battle it out in the middle of the field, tensions are beginning to rise to a boiling point. There are challenges coming in from all directions, and it’s possible that this game won’t end with 22 men still on the pitch!

57′ SUPER SAVE! Onana, demonstrating his excellent reflexes, reacts quickly and successfully to tip over a rustling angled drive hit by Ibanez within the box. That was a fantastic save, and Inter got away from there!

52′ Dimarco lines up a shot from twenty yards out, but the ball is deflected wide of the goal after being hit by Barella, who had just gained some ground by charging through the middle of the field. After that, Roma sweep the corner.

50′ Despite testing Onana with a low shot from a distance, Zalewski’s effort is relatively uninspiring and does not pose any significant difficulty for the alert Inter goalkeeper.

48′ Correa misses the mark twice in the span of one minute when he should have been able to hit the target. After missing the left-hand post with a shot from outside the area, he then missed his opportunity to find Lukaku while he was inside the penalty area.

45′ + 2′ Inter is held back on the edge of Roma’s box thanks to some tenacious defending in the second minute of the four minutes that were added on at the end of the first period because of stoppages. The action is halted once more when Pellegrini is defeated by Calhanoglu’s challenge and needs medical attention; this brings the story back full circle.

43′ While Roma is pressing for an equalizer before the half, both Acerbi and Darmian clear the ball deep within their own defensive third. Even though the hosts haven’t yet presented much of a threat so far, Inter has done a good job of defending.

41′ Brozovic makes a central run to start an Inter attack with a series of quick passes, but the attack fizzles out and Roma is awarded a goal kick.

37′ CHANCE! Ibanez’s header goes high and wide in response to a long free-kick taken by Pellegrini and delivered from the right side of the field. Even though he was under a lot of pressure as he leapt close to the penalty spot, he probably could have done a better job.

33′ INTER LEAD! DIMARCO ON SCORESHEET!

Dimarco strikes for Inter At the Olimpico, the flying wing-back that the Nerazzurri play puts them in first place! After he had finished the ball off from close distance by the left-hand post, he latched onto Dumfries’ low cross from the other flank and guided it past Patricio from a tight angle to give Inter a 1-0 lead.

30′ Cristante is unable to make a clean flick on Pellegrini’s corner from the left, which results in Inter being awarded a goal kick at the near post. Given Mourinho’s influence on Roma’s ability to excel at set pieces, this seems like a huge missed opportunity.

20′ The game is stopped because Belgian striker Lukaku is on the ground with what looks like a shoulder injury, causing concern for Inzaghi on the sidelines.

18′ SAVE! After Acerbi makes a last-ditch effort to deflect a shot from Pellegrini, the ensuing rebound hits Bastoni on its way to the net, and Onana dives to his right to tip the ball over the bar!

16′ In the aftermath of Dumfries’ charge down the right flank and subsequent delivery, which went straight into the chest of the first Roma player in front of him, Inter were awarded another corner kick. The subsequent set piece poses no threat because of Mancini’s defensive header, which eliminates the threat.

14′ Brozovic is set up for a low shot after a deft one-two among Lukaku and him on the edge of Roma’s box, but it is blocked well behind Inter’s first corner of the match.

11′ Calhanoglu’s late sliding challenge on Camara in midfield results in a free kick and sends the Roma midfielder to the ground hurt. The process is momentarily stopped.

6′ Calhanoglu lines up a signature shot from 20 yards out, but it slams into Lukaku, who is unprepared and standing just inside the Roma box.

2′ Two minutes in, Zalewski makes his way up the right flank and then cuts inside Pellegrini, but his first-time shot from the edge of the area flies high and wide.

Despite Martinez and ex-Roma striker Dzeko scoring braces against Verona, Inter have recalled Lukaku and Correa to play up front. Martinez and Dzeko are being rested in preparation for the special Derby della Madonnina that will take place the following week. In addition, the visitors welcome back Barella, Bastoni, and Onana, although they will be without Milan Skriniar, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Robin Gosens due to injury.

Matic is eligible to play for Roma again today after serving his suspension, but Zeki Celik will not be able to contribute due to the late red card he received in the previous match. Wijnaldum, Smalling, and Dybala are all on the bench, but only Dybala is physically able to contribute to the game. Mourinho is also without Kumbulla because of an injury. While Camara makes an appearance in the middle of the field for the first time in quite some time, Cristante takes over for Abraham at center back and starts up front.
