Following their elimination from the Italian Cup, Serie A’s top team Napoli defeated Salernitana 2-0.
Prior to the Rossoneri’s match against Lazio on Tuesday, Napoli moved 12 points clear of the reigning champions AC Milan with goals from Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Victor Osimhen.

After an eventful week that included an 8-2 thrashing by Atalanta the previous weekend, Salernitana fired coach Davide Nicola on Monday before rehiring him on Wednesday.
In first-half stoppage time, Napoli’s Di Lorenzo scored off the underside of the crossbar, and three minutes after the break, Victor Osimhen headed in a rebound. With 13 goals in 16 games, Osimhen leads the league.
Seven minutes from time, Alex Meret of Napoli kept the scoreless by deflecting a shot from Krzysztof Piatek off the post. The score remained the same until the final whistle, with Salernitana claiming zero points in this battle and Napoli keeping pace with Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table.
