Torino vs Lazio- A Goalless Draw at Turin

Last Updated on 21/08/2022 by

Torino and Lazio played to a scoreless draw in a lackluster match. The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino remained scoreless despite the visiting team having the better chances.

The Biancocelesti were eager to build on their victory in the season opener against Torino, but their hard work in the gym did not translate to the field, leaving them to appear unconvincing and sluggish.

Ivan Provedel took the gloves for Lazio because Luis Maximiano was suspended after being dismissed for handling the ball outside of the area just 6 minutes into his Serie A debut. Francesco Acerbi was not available because he was awaiting a transfer, but Pedro and Nicola Casale were. Toro was without David Zima and Aleksei Miranchuk, but Sasa Lukic was back on the bench and Buongiorno had served out his suspension.

Ciro Immobile’s slanted drive was what compelled Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to make a save with his legs. After coming on as a substitute for Lazio, Marcos Antonio threatened again, deflecting a shot just inches wide and giving Sergej Milinkovic-Savic the same outcome. In the middle of a stoppage, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic darted at a corner of a Luis Alberto that was coming in straight from the flag.

The game even though interesting at times, ended up in a draw with both team sharing the spoils.
