A game that was plagued by alleged racist abuse of Rossoneri goalkeeper Mike Maignan was ruined by Milan’s thrilling victory over Udinese, which Milan won 3-2. The game was won by Milan thanks to a goal scored by Noah Okafor in stoppage time.
AC Milan was able to pull off a remarkable comeback victory over Udinese on Saturday evening; however, the game was tarnished by allegations of racist insults that Rossoneri goalkeeper Mike Maignan fell victim to during the match. During the first half of the match, when the game was temporarily halted, Maignan walked off the field. He then returned to the field as the remainder of the match was being played. The winning goal for Milan was scored by Noah Okafor in stoppage time.
Following the incident that occurred in the first half involving Maignan, the goalkeeper walked off the field after having a conversation with the referee. This occurred while the game was being suspended. On the other hand, the game did restart when Maignan reappeared after the conversations that took place in the tunnel.
The visitors took the lead in the 31st minute when Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored his second goal in three games after receiving a deflected first-time shot from Theo Hernandez, who had provided a low cross to Loftus-Cheek.
It was three minutes before halftime when Lazar Samardzic scored a goal for Udinese. He brushed the ball in from twenty yards out, and Florian Thauvin completed the comeback by shooting past Maignan from a close range in the 62nd minute.
Two of Milan’s substitutes were responsible for the damage that was done to their opponents, which resulted in Milan preventing their opponents from achieving a third league victory of the season. In the first place, Luka Jovic scored the equalizer with a header with seven minutes left to play.
Afterward, in the third minute of stoppage time, a deep corner was delivered to Okafor, who was unmarked, and he smashed in the goal that ended up being the game-winning goal. This allowed Milan to cut the gap on the top two teams in Serie A to four points.
