LAFC has been successful in acquiring the services of Olivier Giroud, a top player for AC Milan and a French international.

Giroud reportedly signed a deal to join the Black and Gold this summer on Tuesday, barely one month after verbally agreeing to join the Major League Soccer team in March. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer reporter, provided this information. His new contract will remain in effect through December of 2025.Β

Giroud will be joining Hugo Lloris, a personal friend and longstanding teammate of Giroud’s from France, in Los Angeles for the upcoming season.

At the beginning of this spring, Giroud was rumored to be considering a move to the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, or even staying in Europe; however, it seems that he has now made up his mind. According to ESPN, he will make $3.2 million per year as a player for Los Angeles FC.

Despite the fact that he is still a member of Didier Deschamps’ France squad, the striker who once played for Arsenal and Chelsea has scored 13 goals and assisted on eight others in 30 Serie A matches with Milan so far this season.

Giroud, who has 57 goals in 131 matches for the team, holds the record for the most goals scored for the French national team.

After playing in the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany, where France is widely regarded as the heavy favorite to win the championship, he will go to Los Angeles.

After beginning his career in the National (third division), Ligue 2, and Ligue 1 in France with Grenoble, Istres, Tours, and Montpellier, where he won the French crown in 2012, Giroud will be playing in Major League Soccer as the sixth league in his career.

After that, he relocated to England in order to play in the Premier League. He began his career at Arsenal, where he won three FA Cups, and then moved on to Chelsea, where he won the Football Association Cup, the Champions League, and the Europa League. After joining AC Milan in 2021, he promptly won the Serie A championship in his first season with the club.

In addition to being a member of France’s World Cup winning squad in 2018, Giroud, who has scored 276 goals in nearly 700 games at the club level, was also a member of the squad that won the tournament in 2018. In addition, he represented France in two additional World Cups and three European Championships during his career.Β
