Napoli got back to their winning ways with a 4-1 hammering of Udinese, and Victor Osimhen scored the goal that made the difference.
The day after his agent threatened legal action against the club, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen started and scored as the champions halted a three-game winless streak with a 4-1 victory over Udinese. After Napoli aired films critical of their star player on social media, Osimhen found himself the focus of attention that he did not seek. Additionally, goals were scored for the Partenopei by Piotr Zielinski, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Giovanni Simeone.
when reviewing the footage from the sideline camera, the referee decided to give a penalty kick when Festy Obesele pulled down Khvicha Kvaratskhelia within the penalty area. Piotr Zielinski took the ball and finished it off with flair by sending Marco Silvestri the wrong way with his shot.
Osimhen got on the scoresheet after a turbulent 24 hours in which his agent stated that he was considering suing Napoli over a club social media post. Osimhen took Politano’s ball in his stride before flicking it past Silvestri.
Kvaratskhelia scored a goal to extend the lead to three, and he did it by wonderfully flicking the ball over the Udinese keeper and finishing from close range. This came after Kvaratskhelia had twice hit the post.
Lazar Samardzic scored an outstanding individual goal for Udinese, which put them on the scoreboard. On the way to the goal, Samardzic dribbled past three players, then exchanged passes with Isaac Success, then defeated another two opponents before putting the ball in the back of the net.
The score was kept quite close for barely two minutes before the substitute for Napoli, Giovanni Simeone, scored to put his team back ahead by three goals. Kvaratskhelia assisted on the play that led to Simeone’s goal.
As a result of Inter’s loss, Napoli have moved up to fifth place in the rankings and are now only five points away from first place. The Udinese finished in third-to-last place.
