Juventus looks to Verde as Alternative for Zaniolo

Juventus allegedly plans to focus on Spezia winger Daniele Verde now that they have given up on acquiring Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo. Prior to the forthcoming season, the Bianconeri are still trying to improve their offensive a little bit in order to offer Massimiliano Allegri a little more creative freedom. Zaniolo was a target for Juventus early this summer, but it soon became clear that a trade wouldn’t be cheap.

According to TMW, Juventus is now examining alternatives to Zaniolo, the most recent of which is the 26-year-old Verde, who is under contract with Spezia until 2025. Last season, the versatile Italian attacker scored eight goals and supplied six assists for the Ligurian side.

Verde’s market value is thought to be about €5-10 million, making him substantially less expensive than another player valued by the Bianconeri. Time is running out for Juventus if they want to sign a new forward before the start of the season, so further information is expected next week.
