Roma are hoping to sign free agent Andrea Belotti next week after making a firm contract offer to the former Torino captain. The 28-year-old Italian is now a free agent after his contract with the Granata expired earlier this month, bringing an end to a seven-year association with the Turin club. He was extensively connected with a move to Monaco earlier this summer, but the deal fell through, leaving him free.

Roma has offered Belotti a two-year deal with a third-year option for €2.8 million net per season and rising to €3.5 million. The Italian forward and his wife, who controls his affairs, are currently reviewing the offer and will answer next week. The Giallorossi are upbeat and believe an agreement is near.

Valencia and Villarreal are also interested in signing Belotti and are apparently willing to pay him more, but the 28-year-old prefers to stay in Serie A.
