Milan 3-1 Frosinone: Rossoneri back to winning ways

In Milan’s triumph over Frosinone, Luka Jovic not only scored his first goal for the club, but he also provided an assist for Fikayo Tomori, which was centered around a remarkable display of ability by Christian Pulisic.

While Michael Oyono surged forward into the center of the field and struck a shot that went just beyond the upright, Samuel Chukwueze’s shot was deflected wide from beyond the area. Yunus Musah was rushing onto the through ball that Luka Jovic was playing, the angled drive that he took glanced against the inside of the far post. It appeared that Musah was already offside.

Fikayo Tomori was severely caught by Marvin Cuni when he was in possession of the ball. Cuni then attempted to dink the rushing Mike Maignan one-on-one, but he was unable to create sufficient power on the finish and Maignan made a crucial save for Milan.

It turned out to be expensive, as Frosinone appeared to be fuming over the opportunity that should have been taken advantage of while they were behind in the counterattack. Despite the fact that Simone Romagnoli deflected Chukwueze’s cross away from him, Jovic capitalized on the opportunity by volleying the ball in from eight yards out. His first goal while wearing the Milan jersey was scored.

After a few moments, Christian Pulisic scored the second goal immediately after the restart with an angled drive that flashed across the face of the goal. It was a long Maignan clearance that Pulisic handled with a beautiful first touch, and then he managed to steer it into the near top corner from the tightest of angles, with two Frosinone defenders on the line, all with his right boot. It was the opening move of the game.

It was also necessary for Maignan to sprint off his line and counter Arijon Ibrahimovic, with the assistance of Alessandro Florenzi. However, Frosinone lost Reinier since he appeared to have suffered a significant muscular injury.

The third goal for Milan came about as a result of a corner kick that was not taken far enough for Theo Hernandez to deliver the ball to the far post. Jovic then nodded the ball back from the by-line for Tomori to tap it in.

At San Siro, there was even more reason to rejoice, as Ismael Bennacer made his first appearance on the pitch since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in May. This was the first time he had played since the injury.

The free kick that was taken by Marco Brescianini from the Milan junior academy was able to sneak past the mass of players and surprise Maignan into the far bottom corner. This allowed Frosinone to gain one back on the board.
