Christian Pulisic scored on his home league debut to help AC Milan to a 4-1 victory against Torino at the San Siro, extending their unbeaten start to the Serie A season.
On Saturday, Christian Pulisic scored a goal to help AC Milan beat Torino in Serie A. The United States international, who just transferred from Chelsea to Milan, kept up his impressive form on his home debut for his new team. The San Siro crowd was treated to a spectacular display from their team, which included goals from Olivier Giroud, Theo Hernandez, and a host of others.
As part of a polished team effort by a revitalized Milan side, who now sit atop the league thanks to goal differential, the ever-reliable Olivier Giroud converted two penalties to the pleasure of almost 70,000 home fans.
In their season opener against Bologna, Pulisic and Giroud both scored for Stefano Pioli’s side, and they took an early lead against Torino.
After being set up by his former Chelsea teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s rampaging run and cross, Pulisic made a late dash into the area and finished from close range.
After Perr Schuurs equalized for Torino with a swivel-and-volley goal on 36 minutes, Giroud regained the advantage from the penalty spot on 43 minutes after a harsh handball VAR call against Alessandro Buongiorno.
The goal was the French striker’s sixth in as many games before he saw Theo Hernandez, brought in by Rafael Leao in stoppage time of the first half, score a stunning third from an acute angle.
On 65 minutes, Giroud scored his second goal of the night from the penalty spot after Schurrs was rightfully called guilty of a late tackle on Leao via VAR as he rushed into the area.
